Public Meetings & Education

Cohasset Garden Club endeavors to seek out dynamic speakers who stretch our knowledge and challenge us all with innovative new concepts and information pertinent to our mission.

Cohasset Garden Club holds eight general membership meetings between March and October.

Our Annual Public Meeting always includes a Conservation speaker. This year it will be Theo Koboski from the Ocean Conservancy who will speak about climate change and its effects on the ocean. Ocean Conservancy is one of the few organizations that help protect wildlife in the ocean. Please refer to the announcement box on this page for full details including date and time.

Examples of past Conservation speakers have included: David Pendergast from Agora Greens, who spoke about growing “leafy greens” inside a recycled 40’ shipping container that has been retro fitted into a high production and high technology growing machine; and Paul Tukey of Safe Lawns whose mission is to create a broad-based coalition of not-for-profit and for-profit organizations committed to educating society about the benefits of environmentally responsible lawn care and gardening, with the goal of effecting a quantum change in consumer and industry behavior.
