Walks- Photography Competition II

We all love to walk either on city streets, somewhere in the woods or on the
beach. Let’s slow down, look around, lift our camera or iPhone and capture
what surrounds us. Images can be of plant, wildlife, urban scenes, wide angle
or close-ups. Think about angles, textures, shapes, colors, geometry, etc.
Photographs should include as their main focal point objects, plants, birds or
wild animals you encountered on your walks. This competition will be an inperson GCA judged show, with photos printed and mounted on BLACK
foam board (more details below). Exhibitors may enter up to TWO (2)
classes, but only ONE (1) photo entry per class please. Please do not
include people or pets in your photos.
Class 1 – Walks in Nature
Patterns, Geometry, Shapes in Nature
Photographs of geometry in plants such as lines, curves, symmetry, repeated
patterns, forms in nature
Class 2 – Walks in Nature
Skies Sunny or Not
Photographs of skies with or without clouds, sunny or stormy, bad weather
skies, beautiful cloud formations, night skies. Please do not submit sunsets or
sunrises
Class 3 – Walks in Urban Settings – Architecture
Images of a city skyline, building (exterior or interior), group of buildings,
interesting part of a building
Class 4 – Walks in Urban Settings – Soul of the City
Capture the soul of the town or city such as bustling markets, city street
scenes (no people included), back alleys, characteristics of a certain street,
interesting monuments. Be creative!
